Case IH 352 – Engine Controller (ENG): 5 Volt Sensor Supply voltage is too low

The 5-volt reference circuit, which powers various engine sensors, has dropped below the acceptable operating threshold.

   Locate the Engine Controller and test pin A10, which is the dedicated output for the 5 Volt Sensor Supply

   Check for a short-to-ground in the engine wiring harness

   Check for a shorted 5V sensor that is pulling the reference voltage down

   Test pin A10 voltage

   Test pin A10 with the harness disconnected.

   Evaluate Engine Controller

   If the voltage is low at the pin with the harness disconnected, the Engine Controller itself may be faulty and require replacement.

   Trace harness or unplug sensors

   If the voltage returns to 5V when the harness is disconnected, trace the harness to find the shorted wire or unplug sensors one by one until the voltage returns to normal.

   Repair or replace faulty component

   Replace the faulty sensor or repair the wire.
