Case IH 3597-05 - BCM – BCM: LIN actuator switched power - open circuit

The control module has detected a break or open circuit in the switched power supply line feeding a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) actuator.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the BCM and the LIN actuator for broken wires, backed-out pins, or disconnected connectors.

   Test the actuator using the LIN Actuator Test Cable (Part # 380003394) to bypass network communication and manually extend or retract the rod to verify mechanical and electrical functionality.

   Locate open circuit

   Locate the open circuit in the switched power wiring between the BCM and the affected LIN actuator.

   Repair wiring or connector

   Repair the damaged wiring harness or replace the connector.

   Replace LIN actuator

   If the wiring is intact but the actuator fails the manual test using the bypass cable, the LIN actuator itself must be replaced.
