Case IH 36.00 - ACML – ACML: Task stack error (at least one task stack check failed)
Issue description
Internal software, memory, or processing fault where the module's internal task management has failed or crashed.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- MAXXUM T4E
- VESTRUM CVX
- Case IH Maxxum 135
- Case IH Puma 220
Check the cause
Verify that the ACML module is receiving clean, stable battery voltage
Check that the ACML module has a solid ground connection
Inspect the electrical system for voltage drops or spikes that could cause processor resets
Check for available firmware updates for the ACML module using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST)
Repair steps
Verify power and ground
Before condemning the module, verify that the ACML is receiving clean, stable battery voltage and has a solid ground. Voltage drops or spikes can cause task stack errors and processor resets.
Software Flash / Update
Connect the tractor to the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). Check if there is a firmware update available for the ACML module. Reflashing the module can often resolve stack overflow or memory errors.
Module Replacement
If the module has the latest software, power/ground are intact, and the 36.00 fault code persists or immediately returns upon clearing, the internal memory/processor of the ACML is permanently damaged. The module must be replaced and reprogrammed to the tractor.
