Case IH 3627 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Crank case pressure sensor physical range check (above upper limit)

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected that the crankcase pressure sensor is likely defective. The fault is triggered when the sensor's pressure reading is above 0.01 bar (0.1 psi) for 0.5 seconds, which exceeds the expected physical range limit.

   Check that the crankcase pressure sensor is properly installed and seated correctly

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the sensor for any physical damage, chafing, or exposed wires

   Ensure the electrical connector is securely fastened and free of corrosion or debris

   Locate the crankcase pressure sensor on the engine block.

   Verify the sensor installation and inspect the wiring harness/connections as detailed in the diagnostic checks.

   If the sensor is installed correctly and the wiring harness is in good condition, the sensor itself has failed internally.

   Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the defective crankcase pressure sensor.

   Install the new OEM crankcase pressure sensor and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the active fault codes.

   Start the engine, bring it to operating temperature, and verify that the fault code does not return.
