Case IH 3632 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Fuel in Oil valve plausibility

After the engine starts up, the electrically controlled venting valve is opened to perform a system test. Fault code 3632 is triggered if the absolute value from the crankcase pressure sensor reads above 0.016 bar (0.2 psi) for 0.5 seconds while the venting valve test is running, indicating the valve is not operating plausibly (e.g., it is stuck, blocked, or failing to vent pressure as expected).

   Visually and mechanically inspect the electrically controlled venting valve to ensure it is not stuck open or mechanically blocked by debris or sludge.

   Inspect the wiring harness connected to the venting valve. Ensure the connector is securely fastened, the pins are not damaged or corroded, and there are no shorts or open circuits in the wiring leading back to the ECU.

   Locate valve

   Locate the electrically controlled venting valve on the engine block/crankcase breather assembly.

   Perform diagnostic checks

   Perform the diagnostic wiring and blockage checks mentioned above.

   Evaluate valve condition

   If the wiring harness is in good condition, properly connected, and there are no mechanical blockages found, the fault lies within the valve itself.

   Replace valve

   Remove and replace the defective electrically controlled venting valve.

   Clear codes and verify

   Clear the fault codes from the ECU using an Electronic Service Tool and run the engine to verify that the start-up venting test passes without triggering the 3632 code.
