Case IH 3647 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): P2 pressure errors in PCR - Pressure too high

Indicates an overboost condition where the engine's intake manifold boost pressure has exceeded the maximum expected threshold.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) with the engine off and check the boost pressure sensor reading; it should match ambient atmospheric pressure

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for the boost pressure sensor for damage, corrosion, or short circuits (such as being shorted to a low source)

   Inspect the Electronic Variable Geometry Turbocharger (EVGT) actuator or wastegate linkage to ensure it moves freely and is not mechanically stuck

   Turn off the engine and safely park the machine.

   Using the EST, verify the boost pressure sensor readings.

   If the sensor reads inaccurately at rest or if a wiring fault is found, repair the wiring harness or replace the boost pressure sensor.

   Physically inspect the turbocharger wastegate or EVGT actuator linkage if the sensor is functioning correctly.

   Attempt to clean and free the linkage if it is stuck.

   Repair or replace the turbocharger actuator assembly.

   Perform this step if the linkage cannot be freed or the actuator has failed internally.

   Clear the fault codes from the ECU using the EST.

   Run the machine under load to verify that the boost pressure remains within normal operating limits and the fault code does not return.
