   Verify if the fault code is active or stored

   Check if the Engine ECU software is out of date

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or a compatible diagnostic scan tool to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Read fault codes

   Read the active and stored fault codes to verify 3653 is the only code present. (If other codes are present, diagnose those first, as they may be causing communication errors).

   Clear fault codes

   Clear the fault codes from the Engine ECU memory.

   Cycle the ignition key to the OFF position, wait for the ECU to completely power down, and then restart the tractor.
