   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to confirm code 3680 is active.

   Check the CNH dealer portal for any available software updates or calibration patches for the specific machine's EDC before condemning the hardware.

   Reprogram the EDC

   Using the OEM service tool, flash/reprogram the Engine Controller with the latest software calibration.

   Retest

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key/run the engine to see if the fault persists.

   Replace the EDC

   If fault code 3680 returns after a successful reprogramming, the internal hardware of the Engine Controller is faulty and the unit must be replaced.

   Restore Parameters

   If the EDC is replaced, you must follow the appropriate Service Tool procedure to restore the engine's self-learning parameters (injector trim codes, pump relearns, etc.) to the new module.
