Case IH 37 – Transmission ECM / Chassis/Cab Electrical System / Autopilot/Steering Module: Clutch Pedal Switch Open Circuit / Park Brake Failure / VRef Undervoltage

Depending on the machine series and the module, Fault Code 37 indicates one of the following: Clutch Pedal Switch (1) Open Circuit (logged by Transmission ECM), Park Brake Failure where it will not release (logged by Chassis/Cab Electrical System), or Autopilot System Error 'VRef Undervoltage' (logged by Autopilot / Steering Module).

   For Clutch Pedal Switch (TN/MX series): Observe the Status Lamp (Gear with a Slash) on the dash for alternating flashing, and note if Error Code 11 is triggered concurrently.

   For Clutch Pedal Switch (TN/MX series): Check the voltage being supplied to ECM connector 2 and verify the clutch pedal potentiometer readings.

   For Park Brake Issue (STX/Steiger): Check fuse #39. If blown, investigate the circuit for a short.

   For Park Brake Issue (STX/Steiger): If fuse #39 is intact, inspect the wiring between the fuse and the relays.

   For Park Brake Issue (STX/Steiger): Swap the Park relay (relay #16) with a known good relay to see if the fault clears.

   Turn off tractor

   Turn the tractor off.

   Inspect fuse #39

   Locate the fuse panel and inspect fuse #39. Replace if blown.

   Unplug Park relay

   If the fuse is good, unplug the Park relay (relay #16).

   Install known good relay

   Install a known good relay into the #16 slot.

   Verify Park Brake release

   Restart the tractor and shift to Forward/Reverse to verify the Park Brake releases and the code is cleared.

6. 6

   Trace and repair wiring

   If the fault persists, trace and repair the wiring harness between the fuse panel and the relay block.
