Case IH 3704 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / EDC: Injector Adjustment programming: check of missing injector adjustment value programming

The Engine Control Module (ECM) has lost or is missing the Injector Quantity Adjustment (IQA) code (also known as the IMA or trim code) for the fuel injector on Cylinder 2. The ECM requires this specific alphanumeric code to know the exact flow characteristics of that individual injector so it can properly balance fuel delivery and emissions.

   Verify recent service history to see if the ECM/EDC was recently replaced, flashed, or suffered a low-voltage event causing memory loss.

   Check if the Cylinder 2 fuel injector was recently replaced without programming the new injector's code into the ECM.

   Inspect the top of the Cylinder 2 fuel injector to retrieve and write down the alphanumeric IQA/IMA code.

   Locate injector

   Locate the Cylinder 2 fuel injector on the engine block.

   Record IQA code

   Read and record the alphanumeric Injector Quantity Adjustment (IQA) code printed directly on the injector.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to programming menu

   Navigate to the Engine Controller (EDC) programming or calibration menu.

   Select coding function

   Select the Injector Programming or IMA/IQA coding function.

   Enter code

   Enter the recorded code for Cylinder 2.

   Save and clear codes

   Save the parameters to the ECM, cycle the ignition key, and clear the fault codes.
