Case IH 3705 – Engine ECU (EDC): Injector Adjustment programming: check of missing injector adjustment value programming (Cyl. 3)

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) is missing the Injector Quantity Adjustment (IQA) code (also known as the injector trim code or adjustment value) for the fuel injector installed in cylinder number 3.

   Check recent service history to determine if the cylinder 3 fuel injector was recently replaced, or if the Engine ECU was recently replaced or flashed

   Locate cylinder 3 on the engine and visually read and write down the alphanumeric IQA/trim code printed on the top (solenoid head) of the fuel injector

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port, read the current injector codes stored in the Engine ECU, and verify if the entry for cylinder 3 is blank, corrupted, or mismatched with the physical code

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the machine's diagnostic connector.

   Turn ignition ON

   Turn the ignition key to the ON position (engine off).

   Open programming menu

   Open the engine control module (EDC) programming or configuration menu within the EST software.

   Navigate to IQA programming

   Navigate to the Injector Adjustment / IQA programming section.

   Input trim code

   Select Cylinder 3 and input the exact alphanumeric trim code that you physically read off the top of the cylinder 3 fuel injector.

   Save configuration

   Save the configuration to the ECU.

   Perform key cycle

   Perform a key cycle (turn the ignition off, wait for the ECU to power down completely, then turn it back on) to ensure the value is permanently stored.

   Clear fault code

   Clear the inactive 3705 fault code.

   Verify repair

   Start the engine and verify that the fault code does not return and that the engine runs smoothly.

    Replace injector if necessary

    If the ECU refuses to accept the code, or if the code is correct but the injector is electrically failing, the injector itself must be replaced and the new injector's code programmed.
