Case IH 3753 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC): Level 2 Monitoring: Diagnostic fault check to report the error due to injection quantity correction

The engine controller's Level 2 safety monitoring software detects an internal plausibility error or failure regarding how much fuel injection correction is being applied, pointing to a software dataset corruption or an internal hardware failure within the module itself.

   Check for other active fault codes related to fuel rail pressure (e.g., 3754), injector circuits, or torque requests that could indicate a physical injector failure.

   Inspect the wiring harness connectors at the ECU/EDC to ensure they are secure, free of corrosion, and not suffering from voltage drops.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to monitor the injection quantity correction rates for each cylinder to rule out a severe mechanical injector failure.

   Connect EST

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Clear fault code

   Attempt to clear the fault code.

   Reload Engine Dataset

   If the code is active or returns, Reload the Engine Dataset. This involves reflashing the engine controller with the latest software calibration from CNH.

4. 4

   Cycle key and re-test

   Cycle the key and re-test. If the fault persists after the dataset has been reloaded, the internal failure is permanent, and you must Replace the Engine Controller (EDC).

5. 5

   Restore Self-Learning Parameters

   If the EDC is replaced, you must use the EST to follow the appropriate service tool procedure to Restore Self-Learning Parameters (which includes programming the injector trim codes/IQA codes and zero-fuel calibration data into the new module).
