Case IH 3754 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC): Level 2 Monitoring / Plausibility error in rail pressure monitoring

The engine controller has detected a severe internal mismatch, memory corruption in its dataset, or a critical fuel rail pressure plausibility failure that forces the system to flag the controller's software or hardware as compromised.

   Scan for accompanying codes: Check for any active fuel system or rail pressure sensor fault codes and resolve them first, as a faulty sensor could trigger this Level 2 monitor.

   Check ECU power and grounds: Verify that the EDC/ECU is receiving proper voltage. Voltage drops or irregular switch-offs can cause memory errors or dataset corruption.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST): Verify the current software version on the EDC and determine if the code is active or intermittent.

   Reload the Dataset

   Using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST), reflash the Engine Controller by reloading the engine dataset (software).

   Retest

   Cycle the key and operate the machine to see if the fault persists. If the code clears, the repair is complete.

   Replace the EDC

   If the fault persists after the dataset has been reloaded, the Engine Controller (EDC) hardware has failed and must be replaced.

   Restore Self-Learning Parameters

   If the EDC is replaced, you must use the EST to perform the 'Restore Self Learning Parameters' procedure. This includes marrying the new ECU to the engine, performing Zero Fuel Calibration (ZFC), and programming the injector codes into the new module.
