Case IH 3755 (DTC E7DD) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): ECU internal failure - Torque request comparison

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected an internal calculation error, plausibility mismatch, or failure regarding the engine's torque request limits. The internal processing of how much torque is being requested versus what is allowed or calculated has failed a safety or comparison check.

   Perform a System Voltage Test to measure charging stability and battery health, as undervoltage or voltage spikes can cause the ECU to process data incorrectly.

   Unplug the ECU connectors and inspect the harness and connectors for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins.

   Perform a CAN scan to check CAN Bus integrity for bus health and dropout patterns that might interrupt torque request signals.

   Have a certified technician attempt to reflash the ECU with the latest software dataset to rule out a calibration glitch.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the main battery switch/cables to prevent electrical arcing.

   Locate the ECU

   Locate the Engine Control Module mounted on the engine block.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Carefully release the locking tabs and disconnect the main electrical harness connections at the ECU.

   Remove the Module

   Remove the mounting bolts and rubber isolators securing the ECU to the engine frame.

   Install the New ECU

   Mount the replacement ECU using the original isolators and bolts to protect it from engine vibration.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the electrical harnesses and restore battery power.

   Dealer Programming

   A certified Case IH technician must connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to flash the ECU with the specific dataset for your combine's serial number and calibrate it to the machine.
