Case IH 3755 – Engine Controller: Level 2 Monitoring error

Issue description

Triggered by a diagnostic fault check reporting an error due to a torque comparison mismatch or a plausibility check on fuel pressure (often monitoring for a sticking sensor). The system detects that the engine's operating parameters are out of sync with the expected dataset, prompting a mandatory software reload or hardware replacement.

Applies to these machines

  • skid steer
  • Case IH Skid Steer Loaders (SSL)
  • Case IH Compact Track Loaders (CTL)
  • Case IH Steiger series tractors
  • Case IH Magnum series tractors

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the fuel pressure sensors for sticking or erratic readings (plausibility check)

  2. Ensure there are no loose connections or voltage drops to the EDC that could cause a torque comparison error

  3. Verify if the machine has the latest software update

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

  2. Reload Engine Dataset

Using the EST, Reload the Engine Dataset (reflash the engine controller with the correct software parameters).

  3. Clear fault codes

Clear the fault codes and operate the machine to see if the fault persists.

  4. Replace Engine Controller

If the fault persists after the dataset reload, the Engine Controller (EDC) has suffered an internal hardware failure and must be replaced.

  5. Install new Engine Controller

    Install the new Engine Controller.

  6. Restore Self-Learning Parameters

If the EDC is replaced, you MUST follow the appropriate service tool procedure in the EST to Restore Self-Learning Parameters (such as zero fuel calibration and injector coding).
