Case IH 3757 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC): Reload Engine Dataset Or Replace Engine Controller If Fault Persists (Level 2 Monitoring)

Internal failure within the Engine Control Unit (ECU) preventing it from properly controlling the post-injection fuel shut-off sequence (PoI2 shut-off), demanding an Injection Cut-Off (ICO).

   Verify the fault code is active using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST).

   Check for any accompanying voltage or power supply fault codes (such as 5-volt reference codes) that might be causing erratic ECU behavior, and resolve those first.

   If 3757 is the primary active code, proceed directly to the software reload procedure.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Reload software

   Flash/Reload the Engine Dataset (firmware/software) onto the existing Engine Controller (EDC).

   Clear codes

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key.

   Test engine

   Run the engine to see if the fault persists.

   Evaluate controller

   If fault code 3757 returns after the dataset reload, the Engine Controller (EDC) has suffered a permanent internal hardware failure and must be replaced.

   Remove controller

   Disconnect the battery, remove the engine harness connectors from the EDC, and unbolt the module from the engine block/chassis.

   Install controller

   Install the new OEM Engine Controller.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Reconnect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST).

   Program controller

   Follow the appropriate Service Tool procedure to program the new EDC and Restore Self Learning Parameters (this step is mandatory, or the machine will not run correctly).
