Case IH 3760 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC): ECU internal failure - Torque request due to air control exceeds maximum torque limit

The Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) system has triggered a 'Level 2 Monitoring' fault due to an air path limitation forced by ECU monitoring. The engine controller is detecting that the torque requested by the air control system is exceeding the maximum allowable safety limits programmed into the module, pointing to an internal software or hardware failure within the controller itself.

   Verify Level 2 Monitoring Status: Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the fault is active.

   Software/Dataset Check: Reload the Engine Dataset using the service tool to see if the fault clears.

   Reload the Engine Dataset

   Connect your diagnostic service tool and re-flash/reload the engine dataset to the Engine Controller.

   Re-test

   Cycle the key and operate the machine to see if fault code 3760 (E9DD) persists.

   Replace the EDC

   If the fault persists after the dataset has been successfully reloaded, the Engine Controller (EDC) has suffered a hard internal failure and must be replaced.

   Restore Parameters

   If the EDC is replaced, you must follow the appropriate service tool procedure to restore the engine's 'Self Learning Parameters' to the new module.
