This code indicates that the engine is triggering DPF regeneration cycles more often than the programmed threshold allows, typically a symptom of excessive soot accumulation caused by a clogged filter, false sensor readings, or an upstream engine issue (such as leaking injectors, EGR faults, or turbocharger issues).

Check the cause
Read all ECU Fault Codes: Use a diagnostic tool (like CNH EST or Jaltest) to check for accompanying codes related to the turbocharger, EGR valve, or fuel injectors.
Inspect the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor: Check the sensor and its connecting tubes/hoses for blockages, melting, or damage.
Check Exhaust Temperature Sensors: Ensure the sensors are reading correctly, as the ECU relies on these to monitor and manage the regeneration process.
Verify Regeneration History & Soot Load: Review the history of successful and failed regenerations, as well as current soot and ash accumulation values in the diagnostic software.
Inspect Engine Systems: Check for intake air leaks, test turbocharger boost pressure, verify EGR operation, and check for leaking fuel injectors, all of which cause heavy soot production.

Resolve Upstream Faults
If diagnostic checks reveal leaking injectors, a stuck EGR valve, or a boost leak, repair these issues first.
Sensor Replacement
If the differential pressure sensor or exhaust gas temperature sensors are providing erratic or out-of-range values, replace them.
Perform a Forced Regeneration
Once upstream issues or sensors are fixed, connect a diagnostic tool, ensure safety protocols are met (coolant at operating temperature, parking brake engaged, parked in a safe area away from combustibles), and initiate a forced stationary DPF regeneration. This process typically takes 20 to 45 minutes.
Clear Codes
After a successful forced regeneration, clear the ECU fault codes and test drive the machine under load to ensure the code does not return.
DPF Cleaning or Replacement
If the forced regeneration fails, or if the diagnostic tool indicates the filter has reached its maximum ash capacity, the DPF must be removed. It will either need to be sent to a specialized facility for professional ash cleaning or replaced entirely with a new unit.
