Case IH 3845 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Injector - Zero Fuel Calibration by Lambda (ZFL): DFC reporting error state on comparing energizing time to Max value injector 2

The engine control system is detecting an anomaly with the fuel delivery or electrical energizing time specifically on Cylinder 2's fuel injector during its zero-fuel calibration self-learning cycle.

   Check low-pressure fuel delivery to ensure pressure does not drop below 0.276 bar (4.0 psi) under load

   Install a clear piece of tubing in the fuel return/supply line to observe if air bubbles are entering the system

   Inspect the fuel pre-filter (water separator) and main fuel filter for clogs, debris, or water contamination

   Check Voss O-ring fittings and the fuel tank for blockages or debris

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors going to Injector 2 for chafing, shorts to ground, or open circuits

   Resolve Fuel Supply Issues

   If air or low pressure was found during diagnostics, replace the fuel filters, clean the lines, and bleed the fuel system.

   Repair Wiring

   If the harness to Injector 2 is damaged, repair or replace the affected pigtail/connector.

   Replace Injector 2

   If fuel supply and wiring are good, the injector itself has likely failed internally or its solenoid is degraded. Remove and replace the Cylinder 2 fuel injector.

   Restore Self-Learning Parameters

   After replacing the injector or the EDC, you must use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to perform a 'Zero Fuel Calibration' and restore the self-learning parameters. If this software reset is not performed, the ECU will continue to throw calibration faults.
