Case IH 3930 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): SCR inducement warning due to distance/time is active - Level 10

This is an inducement code indicating that the machine has been operating with an active emissions system (DEF/SCR) fault for too long. Because the operator exceeded the allowed distance or time limit without repairing the underlying emissions issue, the system has enforced a Level 10 inducement, resulting in severe engine power loss, torque derate, or forcing the engine into a low idle state.

   Scan for active root-cause codes using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check for other active DEF/SCR fault codes (e.g., NOx sensor faults, DEF quality faults, DEF dosing pressure issues, or tampering faults)

   Check the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF/AdBlue) level and test the fluid quality/concentration to ensure it hasn't degraded or been contaminated

   Inspect the SCR system for physical damage, leaks, or blockages in the DEF dosing system, wiring harnesses, and DEF tank header

   Repair the Root Cause

   Diagnose and repair the underlying emissions fault identified in your diagnostic scan (e.g., replace a faulty DEF quality sensor, NOx sensor, or dosing module).

   Emergency Re-start

   If the machine is completely immobilized and needs to be moved into a shop, use the Emergency Re-start function. This is enabled after the engine has been commanded to low idle and allows for 30 seconds of operation without power loss to move the machine.

   Perform an Inducement Reset

   Once the physical repairs are made, connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and perform an 'SCR System Inducement Reset'.

   Clear Codes

   Clear all inactive diagnostic trouble codes and verify that the machine returns to full power without the inducement timer restarting.
