Case IH 3932 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Info: SCR Inducement: Warning Block 5 activated
Issue description
This is an informational fault code indicating that the engine control system has detected a critical emissions failure within the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and has activated an 'inducement' state (Warning Block 5), which is a forced engine derate.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- Magnum
- Steiger
- Puma
- Optum
- Axial-Flow
Check the cause
Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and scan for primary active and stored fault codes related to DEF level, DEF quality, NOx sensors, DEF dosing pressure, or DEF pump failures
Ensure the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank is not empty
Use a DEF refractometer to test the fluid in the tank (must be exactly 32.5% urea)
Inspect the DEF injector (dosing valve), DEF pump, and lines for severe white crystallization, leaks, or physical damage
Repair steps
Diagnose the Root Cause
Using the primary fault codes found during your diagnostic scan, pinpoint the failed SCR component (e.g., a failed NOx sensor or a clogged DEF filter).
Perform the Physical Repair
Replace the failed component, or drain and refill the DEF tank if the fluid was contaminated.
Clear Primary Codes
Reconnect the CNH EST diagnostic tool and clear the primary SCR fault codes.
Perform SCR System Reset
Use the CNH EST software to run an 'SCR System Test' or an 'Inducement Reset' procedure. This forces the engine to run, dose DEF, and verify that the emissions system is functioning properly.
Verify Repair
Once the ECU verifies the SCR system is working and NOx levels are within legal limits, the ECU will automatically deactivate Warning Block 5 and clear code 3932, restoring full engine power.
