Case IH 4003 – DV Module (Directional Valve module): Signal from Remote Flow Potentiometer 1 (AUX 1) - out of range

The voltage signal coming from the flow control potentiometer (the dial or switch used to set hydraulic flow for the #1 auxiliary remote valve) is outside the expected operating parameters (either too high or too low).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the armrest flow potentiometer for Remote 1 and the DV module for open circuits, shorts to ground, or shorts to power

   Visually inspect the potentiometer for physical damage, wear, or loose connections

   Perform a component swap test: swap the Remote 1 flow potentiometer with the Remote 2 flow potentiometer. If the fault code changes to 4007, the potentiometer itself has failed

   Attempt to recalibrate the remote switch through the tractor's display monitor before assuming the part has failed

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's battery power to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove armrest cover

   Remove the bottom cover of the armrest console. This usually involves removing several Allen head screws that hold the lower cover in place.

   Remove potentiometer assembly

   Locate the Remote 1 flow potentiometer/switch assembly. Remove the retaining screws holding the remote lever/potentiometer to the armrest.

   Disconnect wiring

   Unhook the wiring connector from the faulty potentiometer.

   Install new potentiometer

   Install the new potentiometer/switch assembly and secure it with the retaining screws.

   Reconnect wiring

   Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Reassemble armrest

   Reassemble the armrest console cover.

   Reconnect battery

   Reconnect battery power.

   Clear codes and recalibrate

   Use the tractor's display monitor or an Electronic Service Tool to clear the fault codes and recalibrate the new remote switch. Test the operation of Remote 1 to ensure the code does not return.
