Case IH 4007 – DV Module / Armrest Controller (ARU / ARM): Signal from Remote Flow potentiometer 2 (AUX 2) out of range

The electrical signal voltage coming from the rotary potentiometer—which the operator uses to set the hydraulic flow rate for the Auxiliary 2 (Aux 2) remote valve—is falling outside of the controller's programmed acceptable voltage parameters (either too high or too low).

   Inspect the Aux 2 flow control dial on the right-hand armrest console for physical damage, stickiness, or excessive play.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the specific connector for the Aux 2 potentiometer (often utilizing Red/Light Green return wires) for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Use a multimeter to check the 5V supply voltage and ground, then back-probe the signal wire while slowly turning the Aux 2 flow dial to ensure voltage scales smoothly without dropping out or spiking.

   Attempt to recalibrate the armrest controls via the tractor's H3/diagnostic menu to resolve potential memory faults before replacing parts.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent short circuits while working on the armrest electronics.

   Disassemble the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws holding the right-hand armrest console cover/panel in place to access the underside of the remote valve controls.

   Remove the Knob

   Pull the plastic flow control knob off the top of the Aux 2 potentiometer shaft.

   Extract the Potentiometer

   Disconnect the 3-pin electrical connector from the faulty potentiometer. Remove the retaining nut (typically a 3/8-32 nut) securing the potentiometer to the mounting plate and pull the switch out from below.

   Install the New Part

   Insert the new potentiometer through the mounting plate, secure it with the retaining nut, and press the control knob back onto the shaft.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, reassemble the armrest console, and reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate

   Power on the tractor and enter the diagnostic/calibration menu. Perform the armrest potentiometer calibration procedure so the DV module can learn the minimum and maximum voltage limits of the new sensor.
