Case IH 4100 – Tractor Electronic Management system / Engine Control Unit (ECU): Rear remote no. 1 - no control message received

The electronic control system is failing to receive the expected communication signal or control message from the electronic hydraulic remote (EHR) valve number 1.

   Locate Rear Remote No. 1 on the rear hydraulic valve stack

   Check the EHR valve connector C202 for loose connections, corrosion, or pushed-out pins

3. 3

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the EHR valve for chafing, breaks, or shorts

   If the tractor is equipped with 8 EHR valves, consult schematic frame 76 for specific remote connector identifications to ensure you are testing the correct valve

   Disconnect the EHR valve connector C202 and clean the contacts.

   Perform a continuity test on the harness between the EHR valve and the control module.

   Repair or replace the wire harness if an open or short circuit is found.

   Replace the EHR valve.

   If the harness and connector C202 are in good working condition, the EHR valve itself has failed internally and must be replaced.

   Use an Electronic Service Tool to clear the error code from the ECU.

   Perform this once the physical repair is completed (harness repaired or valve replaced).

   Test the rear remote system to verify normal operation and ensure the code does not return.
