Case IH 4103 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.1 - Neutral Set point

This code indicates that the controller is unable to determine, calibrate, or physically reach the neutral set point for the spool valve on Rear Remote No. 1. When this happens, the system typically locks out the affected remote valve and switches it to a fail-safe mode to prevent unintended hydraulic movement. This is most commonly caused by an internal failure of the electronic pilot head.

   Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for related voltage codes such as 4104 (Under Voltage) or 4105 (Over Voltage). If these are present, the issue is likely a damaged wiring harness, a corroded connector, or a bad ground at the pilot head rather than a mechanical failure of the valve itself.

   Inspect the Harness: Visually inspect the electrical connector plugging into the Remote #1 pilot head for moisture, dirt, or bent pins.

   Attempt Calibration: Try to run the remote valve calibration procedure via the tractor's display monitor or the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST). If the calibration fails specifically because it cannot find the neutral position, the pilot head is internally defective and must be replaced.
