Case IH 4115 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Control Module: Rear Remote No.2 - Implausible EHR Control Messages

Communication or data error where the control module is receiving erratic, invalid, or unexpected signals from the second rear hydraulic remote valve.

   Check for accompanying Rear Remote No. 2 codes (such as 4116, 4118, 4119, or 4217) that might pinpoint the root cause

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EHR control module and the Rear Remote No. 2 valve for corrosion, bent pins, or chafed wires that could disrupt CAN bus communication

   Verify that the EHR valve is receiving the correct operating voltage and has a solid ground connection

   Determine if the remote valve has lost its calibration parameters, which can cause the module to reject the spool's position messages

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or corroded connectors at the Rear Remote No. 2 valve, clean the contacts or replace the affected section of the EHR wiring harness.

   Recalibrate the Valve

   If the wiring and voltage are intact, use the tractor's diagnostic interface to perform a hydraulic spool valve calibration for Rear Remote No. 2.

   Replace the EHR Valve

   If the valve fails calibration, has an internal EEPROM failure, or continues to send implausible messages, the electronic control head on the spool valve (or the entire valve slice) must be replaced.

   Replace the Control Module

   If multiple remotes are throwing implausible message codes and the harness is good, the main EHR control module/hitch controller may be faulty and require replacement.
