Case IH 4124 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) module: Rear Remote No.2 - Output Stage Faulty

The electronic driver circuit (output stage) that controls the actuator for the #2 rear remote spool valve has failed or is experiencing a circuit error. The controller is unable to send the proper electrical signal to physically move the hydraulic spool.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the Rear Remote No.2 valve actuator for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or physical damage.

   Check the harness between the EHR controller and the remote valve for open circuits, shorts to ground, or shorts to power.

   Perform a swap test by connecting the electrical connector from Rear Remote No.2 to an adjacent remote (like No.1 or No.3). Clear codes and cycle valves. If the fault follows the wiring, the harness or controller is faulty; if code 4124 persists, the valve actuator is defective.

   Depressurize

   Turn off the tractor, lower all implements, and cycle the remote levers to relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness from the Rear Remote No.2 valve slice.

   Removal

   Remove the tie-bolts or retaining hardware holding the remote valve stack together (or the specific actuator head, depending on if the actuator is serviceable separately on your specific model year).

   Replacement

   Install the new EHR valve slice/actuator and replace any associated O-rings between the valve slices to prevent hydraulic leaks. Torque the retaining bolts to OEM spec.

   Calibration

   Reconnect the harness and power on the tractor. Perform the EHR valve calibration procedure via the tractor's Vision Pro/AFS display or a dealer service tool to teach the controller the new valve's neutral and end-stop positions.
