4132

Case IH 4132 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear remote no. 3 - under voltage

Issue description

The control module has detected that the voltage signal to or from the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve #3 has dropped below the acceptable operating threshold. This is typically caused by an open circuit, a short to ground, or a failed internal component within the valve's solenoid/driver.

Applies to these machines

  • Magnum
  • Maxxum
  • Steiger T4B
  • MAXXUM T4E
  • Magnum Series (235, 245, 255, 285, 340 Series 4)
  • Puma Series (140, 150, 165, 175, 180, 195, 210, 225 CVX)
  • MX / TG Series
  • Farmall 115U Efficient Power

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the EHR valve connector (C204) at the rear hydraulic block for moisture, corrosion, or backed-out pins

  2. Perform a harness continuity test from the EHR valve back to the controller to check for chafed wires causing a short to ground or an open circuit

  3. Perform a swap test by moving the electrical connection from remote #3 to an adjacent remote (like #2 or #4). If the fault code changes to the new remote (e.g., 4122 for remote #2), the EHR valve itself has failed internally

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Repair Wiring/Connector

If the diagnostic checks revealed a faulty harness or corroded connector (C204), splice in a new connector pigtail or repair the damaged wire.

  3. Replace the EHR Valve

If the valve is deemed faulty, relieve all hydraulic system pressure. Unbolt the faulty EHR valve section from the rear remote valve stack. Install the new EHR valve section and torque the tie-bolts to OEM specifications.

  4. Reassemble and Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back into the new valve.

  5. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Reconnect the battery. Use the tractor's display monitor or the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the 4132 error code.

  6. Test

Test the rear remote #3 for normal operation and ensure no leaks are present at the valve block.
