Case IH 4193 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) module: Rear remote no. 4 - no communications

The main Engine Control Unit (ECU) or CAN bus has lost communication with the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve section specifically assigned to rear remote #4.

   Locate the EHR valve for remote #4 using the tractor's schematic frame to identify the correct remote connector.

   Disconnect and inspect the electrical connectors at the EHR valve and the ECU. Ensure connectors are not damaged, pins are in the correct position, and the fit is tight.

   Test the wiring harness between the ECU and the EHR valve for continuity, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a damaged connector or a break in the wiring harness, repair or replace the affected wiring components as required.

   Replace the Valve

   If there is proper continuity in the harness and the connectors are in good condition, the fault lies internally within the EHR valve section. You must remove and replace the faulty EHR valve section for remote #4.

   Configure the Valve

   Once the new EHR valve is installed, use the Electronic Service Tool to configure and calibrate the new valve section.

   Clear Codes

   When the cause of the error code has been rectified, clear the error code 4193 from the system and test the rear remote for normal operation.
