Case IH 4200 – Front EHR Controller and CCM (Chassis Control Module) / APH: Front EHR not configured and joystick not detected but selection switch detected

The system's Chassis Control Module (CCM) is receiving a signal from the EHR selection switch, but it cannot detect the physical joystick on the network, nor is the Front EHR properly configured in the tractor's software.

   Verify tractor configuration using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or Pro 1200 display to ensure the Front EHR is actually installed and configured.

   Inspect the physical wiring harness and connectors leading to the EHR joystick for bent pins, corrosion, or disconnected plugs.

   Test the EHR selection switch for an internal short circuit that might be sending a false 'detected' signal to the CCM.

   Check CAN bus communication lines, power, and ground between the joystick and the CCM.

   Configure software

   Connect the EST diagnostic tool. Navigate to the EHR configuration menu. If the Front EHR is installed, ensure it is toggled to 'Configured/Enabled' in the software.

   Repair wiring

   If the configuration is correct but the joystick is still not detected, trace the wiring harness from the joystick base to the CCM. Repair any broken wires or replace damaged connector pins.

   Replace joystick

   If the wiring is intact and the configuration is correct, the joystick's internal module has likely failed and is no longer broadcasting on the network. Replace the joystick assembly.

   Recalibrate system

   After replacing the joystick or altering the configuration, perform a calibration procedure for the EHR valves and the joystick's X and Y axes to prevent triggering related codes like 4201 and 4202.
