Issue description
The Drivetrain/Transmission controller has detected that the electrical circuit for the transmission reverse clutch solenoid has a voltage reading that is higher than the expected normal operating range (typically shorted to +12 Volts). The controller senses this current even when the driver/switch is in the 'off' position. To prevent double engagement or unintended movement, the controller will typically limit the engine speed to medium (half) and restrict transmission operation.

Check the cause
Safety First: Ensure the tractor cannot move while performing tests. Block the wheels and apply the parking brake.
Verify Solenoid State: Check if the reverse clutch solenoid is physically energized when the fault acts up (current sensed while the driver is off).
Monitor Input States: Use the tractor's monitoring mode or AFS Pro display to check the input state (ON/OFF) of the reverse clutch fill switch.
Wiring Harness Inspection: Disconnect the transmission harness and check for a short circuit to +12V (battery voltage) between the transmission controller and the reverse clutch solenoid.
Resistance Test: Check the resistance of the reverse clutch solenoid coil to ensure it is not internally shorted.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn the key switch OFF and disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical spikes.
Inspect Connectors
Disconnect the wiring harness at the reverse clutch solenoid and at the transmission controller. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or bent terminals that could cause a short to power.
Trace and Repair Wiring
If a short to +12V is found in the harness during the diagnostic multimeter checks, locate the chafed wire (often where the harness routes along the transmission case) and repair or replace the harness section.
Replace Solenoid
If the wiring harness tests good but the solenoid coil is internally shorted to power, drain the necessary transmission fluid, remove the retaining hardware, and replace the reverse clutch solenoid.
Reassembly and Clearing Codes
Reconnect all harnesses. Power the key ON (engine off). Use the Case IH EST (Electronic Service Tool) or the AFS Pro monitor's 'Faults and Warnings' menu to clear the inactive fault codes.
Calibration
After replacing transmission clutch solenoids, you must perform a transmission clutch calibration procedure (the system will likely throw a 'Reverse Clutch Not Calibrated' code until this is completed).
