Case IH 4301 – EHR (Electronic Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear remote no. 6 - no control message received

This code indicates a loss of communication. The control unit is no longer receiving the expected CAN-bus or electronic control messages from the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve section designated as rear remote number 6.

   Verify if the tractor is actually equipped with 6 or more EHR valves by referring to the electrical schematic (e.g., frame 76).

   Inspect the EHR valve connector (C207) for the #6 remote for bent pins, corrosion, moisture, or a loose fit.

   Test the wiring harness between the EHR valve and the controller for continuity, open circuits, or shorts to ground or power.

   Harness/Connector Repair

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a faulty connector or damaged wiring harness, repair or replace the affected wiring section.

   Valve Replacement

   If the harness and connector are verified to be in good working order, the failure mode is likely internal to the EHR valve itself. Remove and replace the #6 EHR valve section.

   Configuration

   If a new EHR valve is installed, use the Electronic Service Tool to configure/calibrate the new EHR valve section to the tractor's network.

   Clear and Test

   Once the physical repair is complete, clear the error code from the system memory and test the rear remote for normal operation.
