Case IH 4302 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Control Module: Rear Remote No.6 - Implausible EHR Control Messages

The control module is receiving unreliable, erratic, or implausible communication signals regarding the position or command of the number 6 rear remote spool valve.

   Inspect the electrical connector at the #6 EHR valve section for corrosion, pushed pins, or moisture

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #6 remote valve for chafing, open circuits, or shorts to ground/power

   Check for CAN BUS interference or communication issues across the network

4. 4

   Use the Electronic Service Tool to clear the error code and test the system for normal operation to see if the code is an active hard fault or a stored intermittent issue

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect battery power before servicing the hydraulic electrical connections.

   Rectify wiring/connector faults

   Rectify any wiring harness or connector faults found during the diagnostic phase.

   Identify internal valve failure

   If the wiring, connectors, and CAN BUS network are intact but the fault remains active, the EHR valve section itself has failed internally.

   Relieve pressure

   Relieve hydraulic system pressure.

   Remove faulty valve

   Remove the faulty #6 EHR valve section from the rear remote valve stack.

   Install replacement valve

   Install the replacement EHR valve section and torque the tie bolts to factory specifications.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new valve.

   Configure and calibrate

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool to the tractor and configure/calibrate the newly installed EHR valve section.

   Clear code and test

   Clear the error code and test the hydraulic remote for normal operation.
