Case IH 4303 – EHR (Electro Hydraulic Remote) / TMF (Tractor Multifunction) / CCH (Central Controller / Hitch): Rear Remote No.6 - Checksum Verification Failure / Rear remote no. 6 - EEPROM error

Indicates that the internal memory (EEPROM) of the electronic control head for the 6th rear hydraulic remote valve has failed a self-check or has corrupted software. (Note: Top link switch faults 1100, 1101, or TMF 120 indicate a continuous or conflicting electrical signal from the draft control top link switch).

   If diagnosing Code 4303 (Rear Remote #6 EEPROM): Cycle the tractor's key power to see if the module reboots and clears the checksum error.

   If diagnosing Code 4303: Check the tractor's system voltage. Codes 4305 (Under Voltage) and 4306 (Over Voltage) for Remote No. 6 can sometimes cause EEPROM read errors.

   If diagnosing Code 4303: Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the #6 rear remote valve slice for moisture, corrosion, or damaged pins.

   If diagnosing a Top Link Switch Fault (Codes 1100 / 1101 / TMF 120): Visually inspect the external fender switches and cab switches for physical damage, packed dirt, or debris that might be holding the switch in the 'pressed' position.

   If diagnosing a Top Link Switch Fault: Use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch shows continuity without being pressed, it is internally shorted/stuck.

   If diagnosing a Top Link Switch Fault: Check the switch wiring harness for a short to a 12V power source.

   Disconnect battery

   For Code 4303: Disconnect the tractor's battery power.

   Locate remote valve

   For Code 4303: Locate the rear hydraulic valve stack and identify Remote Valve #6.

   Clean connector

   For Code 4303: Disconnect the electrical connector to the valve's control head and clean it with contact cleaner. Reconnect and test.

   Replace control head or valve slice

   For Code 4303: If the code persists, the internal EEPROM on the valve slice is permanently failed. The electronic control head (or the entire valve slice, depending on the specific valve manufacturer used on your model) must be removed and replaced.

   Install new valve slice

   For Code 4303: Install the new remote valve slice.

   Calibrate valve

   For Code 4303: Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to calibrate the new remote valve and clear the stored fault codes.

   For Top Link Switch Fault: Locate the faulty Electronic Draft Control (EDC) top link switch (typically located on the rear fender or integrated into the draft linkage).

   Unplug connector

   For Top Link Switch Fault: Unplug the switch connector. If the fault code changes from 'stuck on' to an 'open circuit' code, the wiring is good and the switch itself is the culprit.

   Remove hardware

   For Top Link Switch Fault: Remove the mounting hardware securing the switch.

    Install replacement switch

    For Top Link Switch Fault: Install the replacement switch and secure the wiring harness, ensuring it is routed away from pinch points on the 3-point hitch.
