Case IH 4315 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No. 7 - No EHR Control Messages

Communication failure where the central controller is no longer receiving the expected CAN bus control messages from the 7th rear electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) valve.

   Inspect Connector C207 at Rear Remote No. 7 to ensure it is fully seated, wires are not damaged, pins are in the correct position, and the fit is tight.

   Disconnect connector C206, turn the tractor's ignition switch to the ON position, and measure the voltage between connector C207 pin 1 and a good chassis ground (should read system voltage of ~12 Volts).

   Inspect the CAN BUS wiring harness between the rear remote valves and the central controller for continuity, shorts, or open circuits.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wires, loose pins, or lack of voltage at C207 pin 1, repair or replace the affected harness section.

   Software Reload

   If the wiring and power supply are intact but the valves remain inoperative, reload the software into the central controller.

   Replace the EHR Valve

   If the fault is still present after verifying the harness and reloading the software, the EHR valve section itself is defective. Remove and replace the Rear Remote No. 7 EHR valve.

   Configure/Calibrate

   After installing a new EHR valve, you must perform the EHR valve renumbering and configuration procedure using the electronic service tool or the tractor's E.I.C. diagnostic menu so the controller recognizes the new valve.

   Clear Codes

   Once the repair is complete, clear the error code and test the hydraulic system for normal operation.
