Case IH 4320 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear remote no. 7 - over voltage

This code indicates that the control module has detected an abnormally high voltage on the circuit responsible for operating the 7th rear remote hydraulic valve.

   Verify that the tractor's battery is not currently connected to an external power supply (such as a high-voltage jump starter or external battery charger).

   Test the tractor's alternator and charging system with a multimeter while the engine is running to ensure it is not overcharging the electrical system.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #7 rear remote valve for any shorts to power.

   If the charging system is outputting the correct voltage and no external power supplies are connected, the fault is isolated to a faulty EHR valve.

   Disconnect External Power

   If an external power supply or charger is connected to the battery, disconnect it immediately.

   Repair Charging System

   If the diagnostic tests reveal the alternator is overcharging, repair or replace the alternator and voltage regulator.

   Replace the EHR Valve

   If the charging system is functioning normally, the internal electronics of the #7 EHR valve have failed. Remove the faulty electrohydraulic remote valve section from the rear hydraulic stack and install a replacement valve.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Once the cause of the error has been rectified, use an Electronic Service Tool (or perform a battery disconnect reset if supported by the model) to clear the error code. Test the #7 rear remote for normal operation.
