Case IH 4327 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.7 - Spool Cannot be Brought Back to Neutral

The electronic control system has commanded the hydraulic spool valve for rear remote #7 to return to its neutral (closed) position, but the position sensor indicates the spool is physically stuck or failing to center.

   Check hydraulic fluid and filters for degradation or contamination

2. 2

   Check valve stack tie bolts for over-torquing (especially if recently serviced)

   Inspect the electronic pilot head mounted on top of the remote valve for faults

   Check for a physically worn spool inside the valve body or incorrect hydraulic pilot pressure

   Relieve Pressure

   Shut down the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the rear remotes.

   Fluid Maintenance

   If the hydraulic fluid is contaminated, drain the fluid, replace the hydraulic filters, and refill with clean OEM-spec hydraulic fluid.

   Adjust Tie Bolts

   If the valve block was recently serviced, loosen the tie bolts on the remote valve stack and re-torque them strictly to the OEM specification to relieve any binding on the spool.

   Replace Pilot Head / Valve

   If the spool is still sticking, remove the pilot head on top of remote valve #7. If the pilot head is faulty, replace it. If the spool itself is scored or heavily contaminated, the entire remote valve section may need to be replaced.

   Reassign / Calibrate Valves

   If you replace the pilot head or the valve section, you must use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to reassign the valves and calibrate the spool movement so the EHR module recognizes the new component.

   Clear Codes

   Once the mechanical repair is complete, clear the error code via the EST or Pro 700 monitor and test the remote for normal operation.
