Case IH 4335 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.8 - Spool Deflection Too Short

The internal spool of the electronic hydraulic remote valve is not traveling the expected distance when commanded by the controller. This is typically caused by an internal mechanical fault, physical binding within the valve, or insufficient hydraulic pressure preventing full spool travel.

   Check for other active EHR error codes. Address electrical codes (e.g., under/over voltage or transducer faults) first, as they can cause secondary spool deflection codes.

   Check the tractor's hydraulic system pressure. Incorrect or low hydraulic pressure can prevent the spool from moving its full stroke.

   Inspect the Rear Remote No. 8 valve for external damage or debris that might cause mechanical binding.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool, clear the error code, and test the hydraulic system for normal operation to rule out a transient glitch.

   If the code returns, verify that the tractor's hydraulic pressure is within OEM specifications.

   If the hydraulic pressure is correct and no other electrical codes are present, the fault is an internal mechanical failure of the EHR valve (Rear Remote No. 8).

   Depressurize the hydraulic system and remove the faulty Rear Remote No. 8 EHR valve assembly.

   Install the replacement EHR valve.

   Use the tractor's display monitor or Electronic Service Tool to recalibrate the hydraulic remotes.
