This code indicates that the electronic control system has detected that the internal spool for the #8 rear remote valve is not resting in its neutral (centered) position when the tractor's ignition is switched on. This is typically caused by mechanical binding, contamination, or an internal failure of the valve.

   Check recent service history to determine if a remote valve section was recently replaced or serviced, which could result in over-torqued tie bolts pinching the valve body.

   Check for accompanying EHR error codes that might indicate a broader electrical or CAN-bus issue.

   Inspect the system hydraulic oil for dirt, metal shavings, or other contamination, which is a primary cause of sticking valve spools.

   Verify Tie Bolt Torque

   If the remote valve stack was recently serviced, check the valve tie bolt torque. Tie bolts must be tightened to exactly 47 - 52 N·m (35 - 38 lb ft). If they were over-torqued, loosen and re-torque them to spec, then check if the spool returns to neutral.

   Clear and Retest

   Make a note of any other EHR error codes, clear the codes, and test the system for normal operation.

   Address Contamination

   If the fault persists, check the system oil for contamination. If contaminated, replace the hydraulic fluid and filters as required by the maintenance schedule. Attempt to operate the remote section repeatedly to see if the debris clears and normal operation returns.

   If the oil is clean but the valve still sticks, connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST), download the correct level of software, and re-configure the EHR valve.

   If the fault code reoccurs after software configuration and mechanical checks, the internal spool or actuator is permanently damaged. You must remove, replace, and configure the new EHR valve section (Remote No. 8).
