Case IH 4346 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.8 - Lever Not Calibrated

The system does not have valid calibration data for the 8th rear hydraulic remote control lever. This condition typically occurs if the EHR control unit or the lever itself was recently replaced, if there was a software update, or if the internal potentiometer inside the armrest lever is failing and sending out-of-range signals to the controller.

   Verify if the EHR lever, EHR control unit, or armrest controller was recently replaced or flashed, which requires recalibration.

   Check for potentiometer failure by observing the neutral indicator light on the A-post or display. If the system prompts to move the EHR to neutral but the lever is already physically centered, the internal potentiometer is likely failing.

   Scan for accompanying valve codes (such as 4352 Rear Remote No.8 - Valve Spool Not Calibrated or transducer faults) to determine if the issue is at the rear remote valve block rather than the cab lever.

   Attempt Lever Calibration

   Hold the PROG (Program) key in while turning the ignition key to the ON position. Navigate the display to find the ARM (Armrest) section to access the calibration menu. Select the uncalibrated lever (R8). Follow the prompts to pull the lever fully back (raise/retract detent), then fully forward (lower/extend detent), and finally let it return to neutral. Turn the key to the OFF position and wait at least 30 seconds before starting the tractor to test the remote.

   Replace the Lever

   If the lever fails to calibrate, or if the fault returns immediately during operation, the potentiometer inside the armrest lever has failed. Disassemble the armrest console to access the EHR lever bank. Unplug and remove the faulty No.8 lever assembly. Install the new lever assembly and repeat the calibration procedure outlined in Step 1.

   Valve Address Reassignment

   If diagnostics point to the valve itself rather than the lever and the pilot head on the rear valve is replaced, you must use the electronic service tool to reassign the valve addresses so the controller knows which lever controls the newly installed valve, followed by a hydraulic flow calibration.
