Case IH 4350 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Control Unit / Armrest Controller: Rear Remote No.6 - Valve Spool Not Calibrated
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the control module does not have valid calibration data for the spool valve of Rear Remote No. 6. The system cannot accurately determine the neutral, extend, or retract positions of the spool valve. As a safety and operational precaution, the remote valve will typically be disabled until the system learns the correct positional parameters.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- Magnum
- Steiger T4B
- Case IH Magnum series
- Case IH Steiger / Quadtrac series
- Case IH Puma series
- Case IH Maxxum series
Check the cause
Determine if the EHR control unit, armrest controller, or the EHR lever was recently replaced or updated.
Look for other EHR codes (such as voltage too high/low or communication errors).
Inspect the wiring harness between the armrest EHR lever, the controller, and the rear remote valve block. Look for damaged wires, pushed-out pins, or corrosion at the connectors.
Verify that the physical EHR lever in the cab is not physically broken or sticking.
Repair steps
Prepare the Tractor
Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Firmly apply the parking brake and block the wheels. Disconnect all implements and hydraulic hoses from the rear remotes to ensure there is no pressure on the system. Ensure all EHR program switches are turned OFF.
Perform the Calibration
Enter the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu. Select Remote No. 6. Follow the on-screen prompts. You will be asked to move the EHR lever for Remote No. 6 through its full range of motion (pull back to extend detent, push forward to retract detent, and return to neutral). Turn off the key and wait at least 30 seconds for the controller to store the new EEPROM values before restarting.
Post-Calibration Testing
Clear the fault code. Restart the tractor and test the remote for normal operation. If the calibration fails to complete or the code immediately returns, the EHR lever potentiometer or the EHR valve section itself is faulty and must be replaced. Replace the faulty component and repeat the calibration procedure.
