Case IH 4515 – ICU (Instrument Cluster Unit) / Armrest Controller: Front remote no. 2 - control message not plausible

This code indicates a communication or signal error on the CAN bus network. The electronic control unit is receiving a signal from the operator's control lever (or joystick) for Front Remote Valve #2 that does not make logical sense (e.g., conflicting voltage, out-of-range signal, or erratic data).

   Inspect the physical movement of the control lever/joystick for Front Remote #2 to ensure it returns to the neutral position smoothly and is not sticking.

   Inspect the wiring harness connector at the base of the armrest control lever and the connector at the Front Remote #2 electro-hydraulic spool valve for pushed-out pins, moisture, or corrosion.

   Use a multimeter to verify that the control lever potentiometer is sending a smooth, linear voltage sweep to the controller.

   Enter the tractor's 'HH Menu' (diagnostic menu) via the instrument cluster to view the live potentiometer readings for the remote valve. Check for erratic jumps indicating a failing sensor.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Clean Connections

   Disconnect the wiring harness at the Front Remote #2 valve actuator and the armrest control lever. Spray both ends with a high-quality electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease before reconnecting.
