Case IH 48.00 - ACML – ACML: ACML EEPROM Data Integrity Failure

Issue description

Data integrity failure within the module's EEPROM (Cyclic Redundancy Check does not match actual contents), typically caused by a sudden interruption of power while the module was actively writing data.

Check the cause

  1. Check Power Supply and Fuses: Verify that the ACM is receiving stable power by checking the unswitched B+ (battery direct) and switched B+ (ignition) fuses.

  2. Battery and Ground Inspection: Ensure the tractor's batteries are fully charged and that the main battery disconnect switch and ground cables are tight to prevent sudden power loss.

  3. Interrogate and Clear Memory: Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read all fault memories and attempt to delete the fault entries.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

    Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the tractor's CAN/ISOBUS diagnostic port.

  2. Clear error memory

    Attempt to clear the corrupted error memory using the EST.

  3. Re-flash ACM software

    If the code immediately returns, the EEPROM data is permanently corrupted. Attempt to re-flash or reconfigure the ACM software using the EST tool.

  4. Replace Armrest Control Module

    If the EST tool cannot overwrite the corrupted EEPROM or fails to communicate/configure the module, the internal memory chip is unrecoverable, and the Armrest Control Module itself must be replaced.

  5. Configure new module

    After installing a new module, use the EST to configure the new ACM to the tractor's specific options.
