Case IH 5019 – CCH (Cab Controller Hub): Rear PTO 5019 PTO is configured as a two speed and no shaft size frequency was detected when the PTO was switched on. (CCH Only).

The tractor's PTO system is set up to operate at two different speeds (typically 540 and 1000 RPM), but when the operator engages the PTO, the controller does not receive a frequency signal from the PTO shaft size sensor. Without this signal, the tractor cannot determine which physical PTO shaft is currently installed, preventing proper operation and speed monitoring.

   Inspect the wiring harness near the rear PTO housing for physical damage, chafing, or rodent damage.

   Verify that the wiring connector for the PTO Shaft Size Sensor has not been accidentally swapped with the PTO Shaft Speed Sensor.

   Perform a continuity test on the wiring from the sensor connector back to the CCH/PTO controller pins and to the chassis ground.

   Test the PTO shaft size sensor resistance using a multimeter (should read approximately 3,000 ohms; open or shorted indicates internal failure).

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the PTO shaft size sensor, which is mounted on the rear transmission/PTO housing near the PTO output shaft.

   Isolate the Issue

   Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector. If the wiring harness is damaged, strip back the damaged section and use weather-sealed butt connectors to splice in replacement wire, or replace the affected harness sub-assembly.

   Remove the Sensor

   If the wiring tests good but the sensor failed the resistance test, unbolt and remove the faulty PTO shaft size sensor from the housing.

   Install the New Sensor

   Lubricate the O-ring on the new sensor with clean hydraulic/transmission fluid and install it into the housing.

   Reconnect and Route

   Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring it is routed away from moving PTO components and secured with zip ties to prevent future chafing.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor, engage the rear PTO, and verify that the CCH now detects the shaft size frequency and that fault code 5019 is cleared.
