Case IH 51031 – AUX (Auxiliary Remote Controller): Aux Remote Controller failure - Valve Current Enable Protection Low

The current enable protection circuit for the remote hydraulic valves has detected a low voltage or low current condition. This is typically caused by an internal failure within the controller itself, a short to ground in the valve supply circuit, or a failure in the valve supply relay.

   Test the valve supply relay and interlock relay for a failed open condition or voltage drop

   Inspect the wiring harness between the AUX controller and the remote valve block for chafed wires causing a short to ground or open circuits

   Measure the resistance of the remote valve solenoids (Raise/Lower coils) to ensure none are shorted to 12 volts or ground

   Verify the AUX controller is receiving proper unswitched 12V power and has a clean ground connection

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the key and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Repair Wiring/Relays

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a shorted harness or a faulty valve supply relay, repair the wiring or replace the relay.

   Replace Faulty Solenoids

   If a specific remote valve solenoid tested out of specification (shorted/open), replace the affected solenoid on the remote valve block.

   Replace the AUX Controller

   If the wiring, relays, and solenoids all test within normal parameters, the 51031 code confirms an internal controller failure. You must remove and replace the Auxiliary Remote Controller.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the controller or valve components, power on the tractor and clear the inactive fault codes. You must perform the remote valve calibration and hitch calibration procedures via the armrest display or dealer diagnostic tool so the new controller can learn the valve driver offsets.
