Case IH 51039 – Aux Remote Controller: Aux Remote Controller failure - Valve Current Enable Protection Failed

The internal circuitry within the controller that protects the valve current enable circuit has failed. This is a hardware-level fault inside the controller, often triggered by an external short circuit in the valve wiring that overloaded the internal protection mechanism.

   Inspect the wiring harness going to the auxiliary remote valve solenoids (raise/lower coils) for any pinched wires, rubbed insulation, or short circuits to ground or 12V power.

   Ohm test the remote valve solenoids to ensure they are not internally shorted.

   Check the main power and ground feeds to the Aux Remote Controller to ensure proper voltage.

   Clear the fault codes from the system. If code 51039 immediately returns upon key-on or when attempting to actuate a remote valve, the controller's internal protection circuit is permanently damaged.

   Disconnect Battery

   Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before replacing electronic control modules.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If any short circuits were found in the remote valve wiring harness or solenoids during the diagnostic phase, repair the wiring or replace the shorted solenoid first.

   Remove the Faulty Controller

   Locate the Aux Remote Controller. Disconnect the multi-pin wiring harness connectors from the module. Remove the mounting hardware and extract the faulty controller.

   Install the New Controller

   Mount the replacement Aux Remote Controller and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses.

   Reconnect Battery & Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and clear any historical fault codes. You will likely need to perform a remote valve calibration procedure using the tractor's instrumentation or a dealer diagnostic tool so the new controller can learn the valve driver offsets.
