Case IH 51064 – Remote (AUX) Controller: Aux 2nd Raise Coil solenoid shorted to 12 volts
Issue description
The electrical circuit controlling the 'raise' function of the 2nd auxiliary hydraulic remote valve is experiencing a short to a 12-volt power source. Because the circuit is receiving constant or improper voltage, the tractor's computer disables the remote valve to prevent unintended hydraulic movement or electrical damage.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the 2nd auxiliary remote valve block for chafed wire insulation, melted loom, or pinched wires.
Perform a voltage test by disconnecting the electrical connector at the 2nd Raise Coil solenoid and checking the signal wire for 12V with the key ON and cab control in neutral.
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the solenoid coil itself to check for an internal short (near zero Ohms).
Inspect the connections at the Remote (AUX) Controller / Armrest Controller for corrosion, moisture, or bent pins.
Repair steps
Isolate Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Locate the Valve
Identify the 2nd auxiliary remote valve on the rear hydraulic stack. Locate the specific solenoid coil responsible for the 'raise' function.
Address the Short
If the wiring harness is shorted: Trace the harness back toward the cab, locate the damaged section, and repair the wires using weather-sealed heat shrink connectors. If the coil is internally shorted: Disconnect the electrical pigtail from the solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve cartridge and slide the faulty coil off the stem.
Install New Parts
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve cartridge, secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can warp the cartridge), and plug in the electrical connector.
Restore Power
Reconnect the battery.
Clear Codes
Use the tractor's multifunction controller display or a dealer diagnostic service tool to clear the inactive 51064 error code from the system. (Note: The system may not allow the valve to operate until the code is cleared).
Test Operation
Start the tractor and test the 2nd auxiliary remote valve in both the raise and lower directions to verify proper hydraulic flow and ensure the code does not return.
