Case IH 51094 – Tractor Multi-Function (TMF) Controller / Auxiliary Valve Controller (AUX / AUX67 / AUX89): Aux 5th Raise Coil solenoid is shorted to 12 volts

The controller has detected a short circuit to the 12-volt power supply on the circuit responsible for actuating the 'raise' function of the 5th auxiliary remote hydraulic valve.

   Trace the wiring harness from the TMF/AUX controller to the 5th remote valve stack for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinch points where the raise solenoid wire might be shorting to 12V or chassis.

   Disconnect the electrical connector at the 5th remote raise solenoid and inspect for water ingress, corrosion, or damaged pins that could bridge the connections.

   Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the 5th raise solenoid coil to determine if the coil has failed internally (dead short).

   Safety First

   Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic system pressure, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Locate the Valve

   Go to the rear hydraulic remote stack and identify the 5th auxiliary valve block. Locate the specific solenoid responsible for the 'raise' function (refer to the machine's hydraulic schematic if the raise/lower coils are not labeled).

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid coil.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or screw at the end of the valve stem that secures the solenoid coil in place.

   Swap the Part

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the proportional valve cartridge. Slide the new OEM replacement coil onto the stem.

   Reassembly

   Install and tighten the retaining nut to the specified torque (do not overtighten, as this can distort the coil). Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, clear the stored TMF/AUX fault codes via the cab monitor, and actuate the 5th remote valve to ensure the code does not return and the hydraulic flow operates correctly.
