Case IH 51111 – Remote (AUX) Controller: Invalid Software Instruction Executed

This code indicates an internal memory or software failure within the controller. The controller's microprocessor has attempted to execute a command that is not recognized or is corrupted in its software logic. This is typically caused by a software crash, corrupted memory, or an internal hardware failure within the module itself.

   Power cycle the tractor to see if the fault is an isolated software glitch

   Ensure battery voltage is within normal operating range (check for codes 8011 or 8012), as voltage spikes or drops can cause software execution errors

   Connect the Case IH EST to the diagnostic port to check the AUX controller status and verify CAN bus communication

   Check for associated internal controller failure codes (such as 9009, 9019, 9029, or 51039 through 51049) which confirm a hard failure

   Clear Fault Codes

   Using the EST, clear the fault code 51111 from the AUX controller's memory.

   Re-flash Software

   If the code immediately returns upon startup, use the EST to attempt a software update or re-flash of the Remote (AUX) Controller. This can resolve corrupted software tables.

   Replace the Controller

   If the controller will not accept a re-flash, or if the 51111 code persists after a successful flash, the internal hardware of the controller has failed. The Remote (AUX) Controller must be physically replaced.

   Calibrate

   After installing a new AUX controller, you must perform the remote valve calibration procedure using the EST or the tractor's armrest display to ensure the levers and flow controls are properly synced to the new module.
