Case IH 51149 – Remote AUX Controller: Invalid Software Instruction Executed

The controller's microprocessor attempted to process a line of code or command that it did not recognize or that caused a logic error. This is almost always a software-related problem, though there is a small chance it is caused by an internal hardware failure.

   Inspect power and ground connections to ensure the AUX controller has a solid, clean connection to the battery.

   Check connector C053 for corrosion, backed-out pins, or moisture.

   Ensure the controller is properly grounded to the chassis.

   Clear the fault code from the system memory, shut down the tractor completely, wait a few moments, and restart the engine to see if the code returns.

   Perform a Hard Reset

   If you completed the diagnostic checks and the code does not return upon restarting the tractor, the fault was likely a transient software glitch. No further repair is needed.

   Software Reflash

   If the fault code immediately returns after a restart, the controller's software is corrupted or encountering a persistent bug. Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to reflash/update the AUX Controller with the latest software version.

   Hardware Replacement

   If the controller refuses to take a software flash, or if the code persists after a successful update, the internal memory or processor of the controller has failed. Replace the Remote AUX Controller and calibrate it to the tractor's hydraulic levers.
